Torqeedo Cruise Electric Outboards, 4.0R Long, 48V, 4,000W, 214lb., 40.8lb. Review

PRODUCT DETAILS The ultimate outboard for boaters on green lakes and sailors who prefer quiet electric propulsion: Torqeedo Cruise models are in a class of their own when it comes to power and efficiency. Due to the use of a highly efficient rare earth magnet torque motor, electronics and gear package, Torqeedo Cruise models deliver up to twice the range from the same battery supply compared to other popular electric motors. In a display integrated in the remote throttle, the Cruise R models provide accurate information on battery charge, speed over ground, power consumption and most importantly: remaining range based on the current speed. The speed and range data are calculated using an integrated GPS-receiver. The Cruise 4.0R model delivers the thrust of a 10hp gas outboard. It can move sailing boats up to 6 tons at speeds up to 6 knots. A well-stocked 24' pontoon boat with 7 people aboard will be moved at 6mph. Power: (Cruise 4.0R) Input power 4,000W @ 48V, output power 2,040W (comparable to 9.9hp gas outboard); (Cruise 2.0R) Input power 2,000W @ 24V, output power 1,020W (comparable to 6hp gas outboard) Static Thrust: 214lb. (4.0R); 121lb. (2.0R) Battery: Not included (capacity of >120Ah @48V required) Steering: Designed for connection with standard remote steering system, remote throttle (sold separately) Gearing: F-R continuously variable Weight: 40lb.
